“I am Frédérick Douglass. I was born a slave. I’m not anymore. I’ll tell you how it happened.”
This performance piece, produced by The BaroDda Company features Modibu Konaté (Mali) in a solo performance. Adapted from the book “Memoirs of a Slave, Frederick Douglass“, Konaté’s performance will depict the childhood and adolescence of Douglass, an American born into slavery in the 19th century, and the journey that led him to reconstruct his denied humanity.
This event is presented by Alliance Française de Pune in association with the French Institute of India as part of a celebration of the 53rd anniversary of the establishment of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie.
