  • Alliance Française de Pune is part of a network of 14 Alliances Françaises across the country. Admissions are reserved for residents of Pune city and surrounding towns and cities. Students from other cities are advised to contact the Alliance Française closest to them for admissions: https://afindia.org/
  • Admissions are given on a first come first served basis through our online admission portal and are subject to availability of seats. Admission is only confirmed once full payment of fees are confirmed by our bank.
  • The Alliance Française de Pune reserves the right to reject any application without assigning reason.
  • The course catalogue shows proposed dates and timings that could change.
  • Commencement of classes is subject to a minimum number of enrolments. Commencement of classes may be postponed up to two weeks. In the event of the cancellation of a class, students will be given the option of transferring to another class or taking a refund.
  • Annual administrative fees, course, library and other fees are subject to change without any prior notice.
  • Students are expected to contact the office for information regarding the date of commencement of a course in which they have registered. The Alliance Française de Pune will not be liable for classes missed by students.
  • Students from other institutes and students joining after a break of more than six months are welcome to join directly into higher levels. However, they will need to take an assessment test before being given admission. The objective of the test is to ascertain whether the student possesses the required competencies to be able to directly enter the desired level of study and to cope with the course.
  • Assessment tests are held twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, and may be held more often during the admission period. Students must purchase the test on our online portal and call the front office staff to schedule their test. If the student does not log on at the scheduled time, the student forfeits the amount of the assessment test. No transfers or refunds are given.
  • The results of the assessment test will be valid for a period of one month only and students are therefore encouraged to take it only before they wish to register for a class. Only the authorization to register or not into the said level will be communicated to the student and no marks or attestation will be provided for the same.
  • Students enrolled in a class at the AF Pune, within the last six months, are not permitted to take an assessment test in lieu of their final evaluation.
  • Course fees include membership to our physical and E-library for the duration of the course. Course fees are neither refundable nor transferable to a third person or to any other Alliance Française in India or the world.
  • Access to the physical and E-Library and digital platform Mon Alliance is valid from the date of commencement of a course to the end of the course.
  • Annual administrative fees are automatically added if you are a new student. In the case of existing students, they will only be added if they have expired. Annual administrative fees are valid for a year from the date on which they are paid and include access to our digital learning platform, cultural and language activities and workshops offered free of charge to students, testing, attestations, etc for the duration of your course, as well as a discounted rate for the Delf-Dalf Exams.
  • Fees are to be paid in full, through our online portal. Detailed instructions are available on the website. Non compliance of the same will render an admission invalid.
  • The Alliance Française de Pune will refund the entire course fee if a class is cancelled on account of insufficient registrations or if the start date is delayed by more than two weeks and the student does not wish to pursue the course. No other refunds are given.

Transfer of Batch Timing

Transfers from one batch to another are not encouraged. In exceptional cases, students may apply for a transfer from one timing to another, for courses that have commenced on the same date, or from full time courses to weekend batches or vice versa. Such a transfer becomes effective only after a written application has been submitted to the office, approval of the transfer by the Management, payment of the relevant Transfer of Batch Fee and payment of any extra amount on account of an increase in annual administrative fees, course fees, GST or a difference in the number of hours or rates over weekends. No extra amount will be refunded to the student. Such transfers will be authorized subject to availability of seats in the desired batch. The Alliance Française de Pune reserves the right to refuse such a transfer.

TRANSFER OF SESSION

  • Full course fees may be transferred only once and to the session immediately following the session in which the student has enrolled if a written application is made at least five working days before the commencement of the course, along with supporting documents to justify the reason. Such a transfer becomes effective only after approval of the transfer by the Management. A written application requesting a transfer, along with supporting documents to justify the reason for the transfer request, must be submitted by mail to the Front Office. Once the transfer is approved, a credit note with a date of validity will be raised in our Courses software. Fees may only be transferred into the session immediately following the session into which admission has been taken.
  • Students will have to pay any extra amount on account of expiry of annual administrative fees or an increase in annual administrative or course fees, GST or a difference in the number of hours or rates. No extra amount will be refunded to the student.
  • No Early Bird or other discounts are applicable to transfer of sessions. If a student has availed of an Early Bird or other discount in the original enrolment, he or she will have to pay the difference in the regular and discounted rate before the transfer becomes effective.
  • Balance fees including any difference must be paid at the time of enrolment. The student is expected to keep himself or herself informed about the commencement of classes and enroll as soon as admissions open.
  • The Alliance Française de Pune does not guarantee the commencement of any class at any level at the preferred timings of the student in the session to which the fees are transferred. The student will have to choose between available batches in the session to which fees have been transferred or forfeit the amount of the credit.
  • Admissions are on a first come first served basis and are subject to the availability of seats. The above amount will not be refunded nor transferred to another session should the student fail to complete the admission procedure on time and fail to get a seat in the batch of his/her choice. In the event of the same, the credit note will lapse and the amount stands forfeited.
  • The Alliance Française de Pune will not reserve seats for such transfer cases or inform students of upcoming sessions.
  • The Alliance Française de Pune reserves the right to reject any transfer of session application.

Part Transfer of Fees

  • Transfers of sessions are not given after the commencement of the class. In exceptional cases such as grave illnesses, accidents or unforeseen emergencies, and at the discretion of the Management, part of the fees may be transferred to the session immediately following the session in which the student has enrolled if an application is made before 50% of the course is completed. No application for transfer of fees will be accepted after 50% of the course is completed.  Any transfer becomes effective only after presentation of the original receipt, approval of the transfer application by the Management and payment of the relevant fees.
  • 25% or the course fee will be deducted for transfers requested before and up to delivery of 25% of the course and 50 % of the course fee will be deducted for transfers requested between 25% and 50% of delivery of the course. In all cases, the date on which the written transfer application request is submitted to Front Office, will be taken into account and not the date from/on which the student stopped attending classes or informed the teacher.
  • A written application requesting a transfer along with supporting documents to justify the reason for the transfer request, must be submitted by mail to the Front Office. Once the transfer is approved, a credit note with a date of validity will be raised in our Courses software. Fees may only be transferred into the session immediately following the session into which admission has been taken. Transfer fees and balance fees including any difference must be paid at the time of enrolment. The student is expected to keep himself or herself informed about the commencement of classes and enroll as soon as admissions open. No seats will be reserved for transfer cases and fees will be forfeited should the student fail to enroll on time. No further transfer will be authorized. Admissions are on a first come first served basis and the Alliance Française will not be held responsible for lapse of the credit note should the student fail to enroll on time.The Alliance Française does not guarantee the commencement of any class at any level at the preferred timings of the student in the session to which the fees are transferred.   • Students who do not pass a level and wish to repeat the level are given a concession of 50% in the course fees provided they register in the session immediately following the session in which they did not pass. This benefit is applicable only to students who have attended a minimum of 80% of the course and have taken all internal and final exams. This benefit is not extended to subsequent sessions.
  • Alliance Française de Pune students are given a discounted rate for DELF/DALF exam sessions that are held within a maximum of six months following the end of their course.
  • Members of Alliance Française de Pune get a discount on library Memberships.
  • Students must ensure that they are well equipped with a laptop or tablet, webcam and audio equipment before joining the class. The use of a mobile phone is not recommended.
  • A stable internet connection will ensure the success of the students’ learning experience. The Alliance Française Pune shall not be held accountable for power outage or loss of connectivity at the students’ end. Only classes that may be cancelled on account of technical issues at the trainer’s end shall be replaced.
  • It is mandatory that students join the class with their VIDEO ON. If, for some reason, a student must turn his or her video OFF, prior permission of the trainer must be taken.
  • Only the person registered for the class is allowed to attend. No family members or other persons will be allowed to attend online classes. Sharing of the Zoom ID with others is strictly prohibited and strict action will be taken against students who may do so.
  • No recordings of online classes are permitted. Resources shared by faculty is purely for the purposes of learning and may not be reused for commercial or other purposes by participants. The Alliance Française de Pune reserves the right to initiate legal proceedings against persons who misuse its platform, resources or logo.
  • Students are expected to join their class on time, dress appropriately and attend without interruption. Mobile phones are to be switched off or kept in silent mode during classes. Students must refrain from answering phone calls or messaging during class hours, except in the case of emergencies.
  • Students are advised to ensure that they are in a quiet place for their class and that there are no background disturbances or distraction.
  • Students are expected to procure their paper copy of the text book and workbook through external vendors.
  • Courses may include a significant number of online assignments on the digital learning platform “MonAlliance”. Students are expected to complete the modules within the stipulated time as these are an integral part of the course curriculum and are meant to enhance their learning program.
  • Students registered in our Hybrid Co-modal classes will be offered a certain amount of flexibility to shift from offline to online or vice versa provided that there is space in the physical classroom. Only 8 students may attend an offline session at a time in a co-modal class. Preference will be given to students who chose the offline option at the time of registration.
  • Sanitary guidelines as issued by the government of Maharashtra or local authorities, from time to time, in view of the evolving health situation, will be enforced.
  • In the event of a lockdown, or if the health situation needs it, all classes will move online and offline students will be expected to attend the online sessions. No refunds will be given.
  • Classes may be held online during the DELF-DALF Exams if necessary. Offline students will attend online sessions if required, during the Delf Dalf exam week.
  • Students are expected to attend classes regularly. No make-up classes will be provided in case of absenteeism, regardless of the reason. Private classes may be requested in case of absence and will be charged accordingly.
  • In the absence of the teacher, the Alliance Française de Pune will make sure that a replacement teacher is made available. If finding a replacement is not possible, the Alliance Française de Pune reserves the right to postpone the class to a later date.
  • Depending on the circumstances, trainees or any member of the Management may observe, conduct or participate in classes from time to time.

  • Classes may be cancelled and class time may be reduced up to four hours due to unexpected .
  • The Alliance Française de Pune reserves the right to change faculty at any point during the course due to unexpected and unavoidable circumstances.

  • Internal tests are conducted at regular intervals during the course and a final oral and written exam is conducted at the end of the course on our digital platform. Students are tested on four competencies: oral and written comprehension and oral and written expression. The dates of all evaluations are fixed in advance by the professors and advance intimation is given verbally to the students. No written intimation of the same will be given and no re-test will be conducted in the case of students missing the internal tests and the final exam.
  • From June 2022 onwards, all tests & final exams for levels B and C shall be conducted offline, as paper and pen exams. Students who are unable to take their exams in person and wish to take them online, will receive an attestation which bears the mention of the mode of evaluation.
  • The written expression section of all tests and exams taken online, at all levels, with the exception of the DFP B2, will be on paper. Students must position their web cameras in such a way so as to ensure that both their hands and their pen and paper are visible to the teacher at all times. The handwritten written expression exercise must be scanned and uploaded onto the platform for evaluation.
  • Students who wish to continue into a higher level must obtain a minimum of 50% in the final exams as well as in the final result computed at the end of the course and a minimum of 8 on 25 in each competency, in the final exam. Weightage given to internal tests and the end of term exam may vary per level for computation of the final result.
  • In the case of final exams conducted online and given the fact that the sanctity of online tests is compromised by technical difficulties and the absence of strict supervision, attestations will bear mention of the same. The attestation does not certify the language level of the student and cannot be used for this purpose.
  • A soft copy of the class attestation will be sent to students within a month of the end of the . The class certificate shall mention the attendance of the students and marks obtained in evaluations.
  • At the end of their course, students will be requested to fill up an online questionnaire to give their feedback about their learning experience at the AF Pune. Such feedback is indispensable and essential for to improve the quality of Alliance Française de Pune services.

Students who register for DELF/DALF certifications agree with the terms and conditions described by the French Embassy in India and the Alliance française de Pune.

  • Only individuals holding a valid library membership may avail of services offered by the AF Pune Library. Students become members of the library by default, once they enroll in a class. Such membership automatically expires at the end of the course. Students who do not wish to continue into higher levels but wish to use the library facilities, may do so by paying the relevant library membership fees.
  • Library membership gives the possibility to check-out books (2 for 3 weeks, renewable once, except if the book has been reserved) and an access to our digital library, Culturetheque, for the duration of the subscription.
  • Members are requested to respect the calm and peaceful atmosphere of the library. They should refrain from answering phone calls on the premises and are not allowed to have lunch there.
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited in the Library.
  • Members are requested to follow the instructions by the librarians. The library staff is authorized to evict any member who does not abide by the rules of the AF Library or who misbehaves with staff or members in any way.
  • Members are expected to take care of their personal belongings. The AF Pune will not be held responsible for the loss of any item on its premises.
  • Books borrowed by members must be handled with care and returned on time. No new books will be issued to members if books have not been returned. Library Members will have to reimburse the cost of any book damaged or lost by them. Students who have not returned library books or settled amounts due for the same will not be granted admission into higher levels / attestations until they return the same.
  • A lost library card must be immediately reported to the library. Members will be held responsible for any document issued with a lost card should they fail to report the same. Any change of address and/or change in contact details should be immediately notified to the librarian or reception.
  • Library fees paid are neither transferable nor refundable. In case of closing of the library due to health situation (for example in case of a lockdown), no refund will be processed. Library Members will avail access to the digital library.
  • Members/Students in the library should wear masks and sanitize their hands regularly.
  • Students shall adhere to all the Rules and Regulations of the Library failing which they may be denied access to the same.
  • Students are entitled and encouraged to attend our library workshops, cultural events and will receive a regular newsletter regarding the same if they wish.

Access to Member’s and student’s personal data will be limited to our employees and certain third parties who process it on our behalf. We do not sell, rent or share personal information with third parties. When requested to create an account on our platforms, we recommend our customers to choose secured passwords and to keep them confidential. Although we will take steps to secure personal information, customers should note that no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, hence we cannot guarantee its absolute security. Any communication of personal data is at your own risk.
