Shyam Konnur, Founder and Director at MIST and Out and Loud Pune International Queer Film Festival
Shyam Konnur is an openly gay equal rights activist and entrepreneur based in Pune. In 2009 he founded MIST, an online collective of LGBTQ+ individuals across India. Konnur was given the 101 Diversity and Inclusive Leaders Award in 2019 and was awarded by the National Congress Party in 2021 for sustained achievement in the cause of LGBTQ+ inclusion. He is the current titleholder of the national beauty pageant Mr Gay India.
