The Alliance Française de Pune presents a Live Concert of Violons Nomades on Sunday, 19th Jan 2020 at IISER Amphitheatre, Pune.
Nomadic Violins … an exclusive trio that will take you traveling from India to the Balkans.
From the meeting between two violinists distant a few thousand kilometers (one living in Calcutta, the other in Lille), Antoine Marhem (specializing in gypsy music) and Rupam Ghosh (rising star of the Hindustani violin), was born a a little crazy project: bringing together two universes, mixing two ways of understanding and using music, discovering two specific violin styles. A mixture of genres that invites the public sometimes to meditation, sometimes to dance, through the sharing of cultures closely linked by history between peoples.
performers:
– Rupam GHOSH : Hindustani Violin
– Antoine MARHEM : Gypsy violin
– Eric NAVET : Percussion, vibraphone
– Antoine MORINEAU : Persian music specialist at tombak
