International Music Day
Completely different from a music festival, the Fête de la Musique is above all a free popular fête, open to any participant (amateur or professional musicians) who wants to perform in it. This Music day allows the expression of all styles of music in a cheerful atmosphere. It aims at a large audience, working to popularise musical practice for young and not so young people from all social backgrounds. It gives an opportunity to communicate and share a very special moment through music. Alliance Française Pune & Max Mueller Bhavan, in collaboration with Pune Municipal Corporation, are organising the Fête de la Musique (International Music Day) on Friday, the 21st of June 2013. The 8th edition marks mulitple venue collaborations besides Alliance Française Pune and Max Mueller Bhavan Pune. Esteemed organisations like the Pune Municipal Corporation and the Australian Embassy have joined hands to develop musical exchange between the city centres and the outlying areas.Performances at La Bouchee d’Or, SWIG, High Spirits, Cocoparra, Pune Station (Platform 1), Public Buses, Vishrambaug Wada, Sambhaji Park, Canal Road Jogging Tracks, etc. will add cheer to the festival which is steadily extending its horizons.
