Alliance Française de Pune in association with The Department of French, Fergusson College (Autonomous) presents ‘Buried Treasures’, musical tales from India and Europe performed by the Lilanoor Ensemble!

Buried Treasures captures fables and folk stories shaped by time and travel that represent small pieces of the collective Indo-European history.

Perfectly suited for audiences of all ages, the literary musical creation is a narration of thought-provoking four short stories from Indian and European traditions, adapted for the stage, and interspersed with a variety of musical pieces. Hindustani Classical Music, Western Classical Music, European Baroque songs, English and Spanish melodies, Indian and French Folk Music, and contemporary music all find a place in the show.

The Lilanoor Ensemble intends to create a poetic and magical universe using puppets and shadow theatre techniques, with the extraordinary puppeteer and sculptor Mohammed Shameem.

At a time when exchanges between the people of the world are increasingly troubled by health, ecological and social crises, it seems essential to recall – through these tales and fables – the extent to which each individual is unique yet similar to their neighbor, that humanity finds unity in diversity, and that the potential for sharing and creativity is unlimited.[divider]
